Strategic Planning
Primary Health Care Needs in Bolton - A Discussion Paper
In June 2008, the Central West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) conducted a comprehensive analysis of the health and care needs of the Central West LHIN region and set out a plan of action for addressing these needs over the next several years.
As part of this plan, the Central West LHIN identified the need to develop a number of community based Health and Care Centres in communities such as Bolton, Brampton, Orangeville, Shelburne, Malton, Rexdale and Woodbridge. The focus of these new Health and Care Centres will be to build upon the community resources that currently exist within each of the targeted communities to improve access for residents to a broad range of community-based health care services.
To move forward on this initiative the Central West LHIN requested a discussion paper be prepared to review primary health care needs in Bolton and the opportunity for the development of a Health and Care Centre. Please follow the below link to access this dicussion paper.
Back Office Integration Options and Directions
The Central West LHIN has embarked on an initiative to explore options to integrate back-office functions. This initiative is driven by the Central West LHIN’s ongoing strategic vision to improve access to health care services by ensuring resources are used optimally and focused on the client. This work investigates the potential to improve efficiencies in back office functions through health service providers working together. It is envisaged that the study will provide strategic direction to the Central West LHIN and inform its decision to proceed further down the back-office integration route, based on evidence and analysis gathered during this options development stage.
