Ministry-LHIN Accountability Agreement
The Central West LHIN and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care have finalized and signed an Accountability Agreement. The agreement sets out obligations on the part of both the Ministry and LHINs in fulfilling our mandate to plan, integrate, and fund local health care services.
Developing the Accountability Agreement was a collaborative process and sets out the relationship between the ministry and the LHINs in fulfilling their roles to strengthen health care for all Ontarians.

Central West LHIN Certificates of Compliance
Ontario’s 14 Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) through their individual Ministry-LHIN Performance Agreements (MLPAs) are required to sign Certificates of Compliance as part of the General Performance Obligations. These Certificates of Compliance are completed on a quarterly basis and attests to the LHIN’s compliance with applicable legislation; provincial policies; standards; operating manuals; directives; and guidelines available to the LHINs, as required by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).
The Central West LHIN is committed to being open and transparent with its stakeholders and the general public. To support this commitment, the Central West LHIN’s Certificate of Compliance is presented quarterly at the Board of Directors Meeting – Open Sessions and posted below.
Health Service Provider Accountability Agreements
Part of the Central West LHIN's responsibility is to work with local health service providers to develop a framework for accountability that encourages transparency and ensures the best possible quality of care is available to all residents of the Central West LHIN region.
The accountability agreements below outline the responsibilities of local health service providers and the LHIN, set activity and financial targets, lay out expectations for ongoing development and service delivery and provide benchmarks so that providers and the LHIN can measure performance year over year.
Multi-Sectoral Accountability Agreements (M-SAA)
The Multi-Sectoral Accountability Agreements, which came into effect on April 1, 2011, outline the responsibilities of community health service providers and the LHIN over the next three years.
